Hard Times Don’t Last Forever

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

You can be confident that the hard situation you may be in right now is going to turn around. Hard times never last. God has a wonderful plan for your life.

How do I know? I read it in the Bible.

My tendency is to think about the worst thing that could possibly happen, and then figure out what I would do if it did. I am not sure this is really the best attitude to have, because there are times when I allow fear to rule my heart.

It is important to view our lives realistically. Not facing the truth about issues, cancer for instance, can have disastrous effects.

Yesterday I met a woman who is not facing the fact that her husband is seriously ill. If she doesn’t face it, she cannot get him help. Facing your situation truthfully is the only way to know what your part should be and what you need to do.

It is always appropriate to have a positive, optimistic attitude. It is always the right thing to be hopeful.

We serve a God who is all-powerful and who loves us, a God who wants the best for our lives, a God who loves us so much, He died for us.

Reread Jeremiah 29:11. Remember, hard times do not last forever, but God does! He is eternal. And He plans the very best for you.
