Waiting on the Lord

Have you ever been anxious about something you want to happen in your life? We often want things to take place when we think they should happen. However, if we would just sit back and let the Lord take control our lives would be less worrisome.

Isaiah 40:31 tells us, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” We have this promise from God that if we will just wait, He will give us strength.

Let me ask you this: When you are on a long road trip, driving in the car, don’t you let someone else drive when you get tired? Then why do you have such a hard time letting go of the worry you carry over things you think should happen? Instead, let God take the steering wheel, sit back and enjoy the ride. When we let Him drive, giving Him control, we can know that we will arrive at our desire destination in His perfect timing.

Remember the words of Solomon: “He [the Lord] hat made everything beautiful in His time…” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
