Fear is not from God!

What does the Bible say about fear? The fear I am referring to is when someone is afraid. Does God want His people to live in fear?

Absolutely not! In the New Testament, Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” If you are feeling fear today in you life, it is not from God. Fear comes from the enemy, Satan.

Satan, the ruler of darkness, wants to put God’s people in bondage by instilling fear into our minds and spirits. Don’t let him. Romans 8:15 reminds us, “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’” We don’t need to fear because we are adopted children of the Most High God!  Our God reminds us in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God….”

Claim your freedom from fear today. Declare these words as David did in Psalms 27:1: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Claim that promise today!
