When the Voyage is Ended

When the Voyage is Ended

                – by Fanny Crosby

When the voyage of life is ended,
And all stormy winds have ceased;
When we leave behind all sorrow
And enter into joy and peace,

When we gather on that morning,
And our dreary nights are over,
When we join our hands, united,
And partings come no more,

We’ll see those pearly gates of glory,
Not ajar – but open wide!
Even now by faith we see them,
And with Jesus we’ll abide.

Oh, praise His Name forever,
All ye ransomed hosts above:
We are ready and are coming –
Soon we’ll join your songs of love.
