Walking With God

They walked with God, for none can shame
Those trusting in His holy name;
Looking for that glorious morn,
Enduring worldly shame and scorn.

Thus Noah walked – and the ark prepared;
Building in faith, God’s message he shared.
Though many ‘round him did scoff and hiss,
The will of God he could not miss.

Thus Enoch walked in ancient time,
Trusting God with a faith sublime;
Until he was raptured away
Unto that land of perfect day.

Thus Abraham walked when called to go
Into a land he did not know;
Though a stranger and a pilgrim there
He looked for God’s city to appear.

Thus Moses walked, persevered, endured;
Until God’s promises he secured.
He spurned the wealth of all the earth
For obeying God has eternal worth.

And so we walk in grace and peace
Patiently awaiting our soul’s release;
We reject the world and take the cross
And carry it daily, whatever the cost.
