Biblical Wisdom

Today, let’s build a scriptural portfolio of a wise person by examining the biblical concept of wisdom:

A wise person will hear and will increase in learning.    Proverbs 1:15

Wisdom is compared in a finial sense to one’s sister.  Proverbs 7:14

Finding wisdom breeds happiness in life.  Proverbs 3:13

The Word of God is able to make you wise.    II Timothy 3:5

God’s wisdom tends to make you prosperous.  Proverbs 21:20

Wisdom is sometimes demonstrated by what you do not say.  Proverbs 10:19 and 29:11

The person who wins souls to Christ is wise.  Proverbs 11:30

Wisdom is demonstrated by listening to wise counsel.  Proverbs 12:15

Wisdom is more valuable than silver and gold.  Proverbs 3:14 and 16:16  

Even rubies have less value than wisdom.  Proverbs 3:15

It is wise to practice discretion and prudence.  Proverbs 3:21 and 8:12

Wisdom tends to make one strong.  Proverbs 24:5

Jesus commends the wise virgins who had sufficient oil for their lamps.  Matthew 25:1-4

The one who loves wisdom loves himself.  Proverbs 19:8

Those who walk wisely will find deliverance.  Proverbs. 27:26

All true wisdom originates with God.  Daniel 2:20

A wise man will receive God’s commandments into his heart.  Proverbs 10:8

A wise woman builds her home and household for God.  Proverbs 14:1

To get wisdom from God, all you must do is ask.  James 1:5
