The Holy Spirit and You

How active is the Holy Spirit in your life? Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to renew you day by day?

The Apostle Paul, who was filled with the Holy Spirit wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:16, “Therefore we do not become discouraged [utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear]. Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day” (Amplified). He was writing about his spirit being renewed each day by the Holy Spirit who was abiding in him.

We also have the power of Almighty God residing in us through the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 confirms this fact: “But you shall receive power [ability, efficiency, and might] when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Amplified).

We have the Holy Spirit’s power to overcome any temptation we face each day.

Do you desire to know Jesus more intimately? Then allow the Holy Spirit to be at work in your life. Jesus said in John 15:26, “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me” (KJV). The Holy Spirit will better acquaint you with our Savior Jesus.

Do you yearn for the Holy Spirit to show you more of Jesus? He yearns for you. James 4:5 tells us, “Or do you think that the scripture says in vain, ‘The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?” (NKJV).

It is vital that we, as believers in Christ, allow the Holy Spirit to renew us each day. Not only will we be able to resist temptation, but we will be drawn into a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
