Real Talk About Sex

“Since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2).

I am concerned about the amount of sex on TV. Sex has always been prevalent in the movies, but TV brings huge sexual issues right into the home. It’s not healthy to have so much on the topic of illicit sex thrown in our faces.

Society seems to be totally obsessed with the subject. For all that has been written and said about sex and for all the ways society obsesses about it, most people are wrong when it comes to what sex is really about.

Sex is God’s gift to married couples, period. We do not need to put ourselves through the mental gymnastics of when sex is right or wrong, what sexes should be together, etc. Sex is for married people only; one man and one woman.

Sex is discussed at length in 1 Corinthians 7. I am amazed at the simplicity of this passage; it says it all. It explains everything. What is all the hassle about? You see, according to this Scripture, God gives His children the gift of sex in marriage or else He gives them the gift of celibacy. Sex is intimate, holy and private, between two people. It is not meant for jokes, nor is it to make money. We are not to exploit the act in any way.

Sex it to be given freely, but ONLY to the one to whom we are married. Even if you want someone else, the answer is, resoundingly, NO! Be tough on yourself.

Living a life for Jesus is worth it.
