Ready, Strong & Able

I Peter 4:16:
“However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.”

It is imperative that we maintain a close relationship with the Father and do not allow ourselves to be corrupted from the outside.  We must be alert to the dangers around us, seeking to exploit and destroy us.  But if we are walking in the way of Christ, there is no reason to fear the enemy or his schemes, because they are doomed to fail.

I Peter 5:10
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

By allowing God full control of our lives, we are able to resist the devil, and all that he puts against us will fall by the power of God.  We cannot allow ourselves to be compromised or dismayed.

James 1:2-3
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”

The enemy uses it to destroy, and for some it does, but for those that are walking with God, it only strengthens character and resolve.  Suffering will develop perseverance for those who keep their eyes on Christ and walk in God’s will, who have put God above everything in their live, above even life itself.
